Mac OS X Lion

Built on a rock-solid UNIX foundation, OS X is engineered to take full advantage of the technologies in every new Mac. And to deliver the most intuitive and integrated computer experience.

Hardware and software made for each other.
Since the software on every Mac is created by the same company that makes the Mac, you get a fully integrated system in which everything works together perfectly. OS X works with the processor in your Mac to deliver the best possible performance. The Multi-Touch trackpad on every Mac notebook gives you more than enough space to pinch, swipe, and tap your way around most of the apps on your system. OS X gives you long battery life by dimming the screen in low-light conditions and even regulating processor activity between keystrokes.

Interact with your computer in a whole new way.
Tap, scroll, pinch, and swipe using Multi-Touch gestures, directly controlling what’s on your screen in a more fluid, natural, and intuitive way. When you scroll down on your trackpad or Magic Mouse, your document scrolls down. When you scroll up, your web page scrolls up. When you swipe left, your photos move left. And there are many more gestures that make all you do on your Mac the best experience you can have on a computer. Hands down.

Swipe up on the trackpad to get a bird’s-eye view of everything running on your Mac.
Switch between open apps
Swipe three fingers to move from one full-screen app to another.
Two-finger scroll
Slide two fingers up or down the trackpad to scroll through documents, websites, and more.
Tap to zoom
Double-tap the trackpad with two fingers to magnify a web page or PDF.
Pinch to zoom
Zoom in and out of photos and web pages by moving your thumb and finger in a pinch gesture.
Swipe to navigate
Flip through web pages, documents, and more like thumbing pages in a book.

Easy to use and incredibly powerful.
From the desktop you see when you start up your Mac to the applications you use every day, everything is designed to be simple and intuitive. Of course, making amazing things simple requires some seriously advanced technologies, and OS X is loaded with them. Not only is it built on a rock-solid, time-tested UNIX foundation that provides unparalleled stability, it also delivers incredible performance, stunning graphics, and industry-leading support for Internet standards.

Easy access to all of your apps.
Working and playing on a Mac is all about apps, so OS X makes it simple to find and open those apps fast. The Dock is a handy place on your desktop for storing and launching your favorite apps, and it makes switching between them a breeze. The Dock also includes Stacks, folders that give you quick access to documents, files, and downloads. Launchpad is a full-screen home for all the apps on your Mac. It lets you arrange them the way you want, group them in folders, and delete them with ease. And apps purchased from the Mac App Store automatically appear in Launchpad, so you can browse thousands of apps and start using the ones you buy right away.

Drag the icons of your favorite apps to the Dock for quick access.
Access documents, files, and downloads with Stacks.

Find, organize, and share files fast.
The Finder gives you easy access to all the files on your system. It lets you find, organize, and access practically everything on your Mac — including applications, files, folders, discs, and shared computers on your network. You can sort files by kind, application, date modified, date added, or size. But with so many files on your computer, finding a specific one can be a challenge. Not on a Mac. Features like Spotlight and Quick Look make locating the file you’re looking for effortless — even if you don’t know the filename. Say you’re searching for a document, and the only thing you recall about it is the phrase “surrealist painters.” Open Spotlight, start typing “surrealist painters,” and your Mac generates a list of files that contain those words. And with Quick Look, you don’t need to open an application to verify that you’ve found the right file — view a full-screen preview by hitting the space bar. Want to share a file with someone nearby? Just drag and drop to send it to the person wirelessly with AirDrop.

OS X offers systemwide support for gorgeous, full-screen apps that use every inch of your Mac display. You can have multiple full-screen apps open at once — along with multiple apps in windows. And it’s easy to switch between full-screen and desktop views. Mission Control gives you a bird’s-eye view of all your windows and full-screen apps, and allows you to instantly navigate among them.

It does the saving for you.
Say goodbye to the worry and the hassle of manually saving your work. Auto Save automatically saves your work, while you work, without you having to do a thing. Versions creates a new version of a document each time you open it and every hour while you’re working. It saves only the differences between successive versions, so the impact on your disk drive is minimal. Just open Versions to see the current document next to a cascade of previous versions. You can copy and paste between versions or revert to an earlier version. And when you share a document, you share only the most recent copy.

Built-in apps you’ll use every day.
OS X comes in a single version that includes a collection of Apple-designed applications. Not only do they let you surf the web, make video calls and have text chats, manage your contacts, and accomplish other day-to-day tasks, they also work together to make you more productive — and let you have more fun.

Apple MacBook Air

If a notebook is thin and light enough to carry with you everywhere you go, it should be powerful enough to handle everything you do. The new MacBook Air is more than up to the task — whatever the task may be.

Intel Core i5 and i7 Processors

Now with the latest Intel Core processors — a Core i5 up to 1.7GHz or an optional 1.8GHz Core i7 — and speedier DDR3 memory, the new MacBook Air is up to 2.5x as fast as the previous generation,1 yet it weighs next to nothing. Applications run faster and more efficiently than before. So everything you normally do on a computer you can do even quicker. Send email, write reports, create presentations, touch up photos, edit home movies, and all the little (and big) tasks in between. And since the Core i5 and i7 processors feature a graphics processor with an on-chip engine for video encoding and decoding, you’ll notice longer battery life when watching iTunes movies or making FaceTime video calls.

All-Flash Storage

“Wow, that was fast.” With MacBook Air, you’ll find yourself saying that a lot. Because flash storage is up to two times faster than a conventional hard drive,2 everything you do is more responsive and immediate — starting up, browsing a large photo library, launching applications, and opening files, for instance. When you combine the speed of flash storage with a fast dual-core processor and power-efficient graphics, your entire MacBook Air experience feels turbocharged. And flash storage doesn’t have any moving parts, which means it’s more reliable and quiet. Lightning fast, durable, silent — qualities that make sense in a notebook tasked with keeping up with you.

iPad 2 Vs. Motorola Xoom

“Year 2010 was the year of tablets,” said Apple CEO Steve Jobs at the event in San Francisco while he unveiled the second generation iPad, the iPad 2. He was right when he said that because year 2010 saw a huge sea of tablets coming from major players with a sole aim to become the most convincing iPad killer after the launch of the original iPad in year 2009 that took the world by storm.
In a blow by blow comparison between Xoom vs. iPad 2, one can see which tablet to buy. Apparently both are similar and only upon close scrutiny one can find difference between the two. The screen size of the iPad 2 is 9.7-inch whereas that of Motorola Xoom is 10.1-inch, not a significant difference. Each of them come with 1GHz dual core processor, it is Nvidia Tegra 2 in Xoom and Apple A5 in iPad2. Both the tablets have cameras, front facing and rear. Motorola Xoom has a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera while iPad 2 has a VGA front facing camera with Face Time feature and a rear camera with 720p resolution.

The screen resolution of both the tablets is however nearly the same, the screen of iPad2 has a resolution of 1,024 x 768 while that of Xoom is 1,280 x 800. The operating system of the iPad 2 is iOS 4.3 while Xoom runs on Google’s Android v 3.0. Android v 3.0 is designed specifically for tablets whereas if you like Apple’s OS, then iOS 4.3 is the latest by Apple. iPad 2 is available through AT&T and Verizon Wireless whereas Xoom is only available through Verizon.

The price comparison of the two tablets- Apple iPad2 is priced between $499 and $829 and Motorola Xoom is priced between $599 and $799. iPad 2supports 300k applications, the maximum for any tablet in the market while Xoom supports 100k applications. Tim Cook-Apple's New CEO is a GAY...!!!

Apple's chief executive Steve Jobs has left operations chief Tim Cook in command during extended periods of medical leave three times now, indicating confidence in a man who has been described as Jobs' heir apparent for years.

Valleywag profiled Cook as being "as reticent to acknowledge his sexual orientation as he has his prowess in overseeing the company supply chain," noting that despite being a "famously quiet and collected person," Cook "will find his backstory, both personal and professional, the topic of increasing interest and discussion in the tech community."

The profile notes that "Cook's rise to his position—he is one of the most powerful corporate executives in the world, to say nothing of being the most powerful gay person in tech by a mile—is also a tribute to his skill and work ethic on the one hand, and to the utterly unconventional and unconventionally empowering people skills of Jobs on the other."

Unflappable

The profile detailed Cook's background, in particular describing his recruitment by Jobs from Compaq in 1998, noting that "'unflappable' demeanor may have been what sealed the deal with Jobs. 'Steve is very focused on people he can connect to emotionally' a recruiter present at the meeting later said."

Cook is credited with rapidly fixing Apple's "notorious manufacturing inefficiencies" and solved the inventory problems that dogged the company's ability to supply enough of popular products like the PowerBook while spending too much to warehouse models that weren't.

Cook is also noted as the brain behind identifying flash RAM as a critical component that Apple needed to secure vital access to via a multiyear contract worth more than $1 billion. Cook has since unveiled a new $3.9 billion plan intended to secure priority access to strategic components.

Described as a workaholic who survives on a diet of "an endless series of energy bars," Cook is said to pride himself "on being first into the office and the last one out," and expects a similar level of commitment from others.

Different from Jobs

Unlike Jobs, Cook is not seen to be a product visionary nor a "compelling public speaker," tasks Apple's management team has delegated to design chief Jonathan Ive and marketing chief Phil Schiller, respectively. Like Jobs however, Cook hasn't been shy about thawing sharp critiques at competitors' products, recently describing various vendor's tablet products as being "big, heavy, expensive," "bizarre," or simply "vapor."

Described as both a "fitness nut in the gym by 5 AM," and "relatively withdrawn," Valleywag noted that it has "heard from two well-placed sources" that Cook is gay, and that "it sounds like Cook's sexual orientation has been the topic of at least some discussion within the company."

The profile cited "one tech executive who has spoken to multiple Apple management veterans about Cook" as reporting being "told executives there would support Cook if he publicly acknowledged his orientation, and even would encourage him to do so as he steps up his leadership role, but that they also had concerns about whether his coming out would impact the perception of the Apple brand."

Also noted was Cook's 1996 misdiagnosis with multiple sclerosis, something that caused him to "see the world in a different way," and has prompted him to help raise funds for research of the disease since.

ios 4.3-The Most Advanced Operating System in the world

According to the official release on the Apple site, iOS 4.3 will get “more play out of AirPlay”, which means it has the wireless technology to allow the user to stream content from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to HDTV via Apple TV which includes music, photos, and videos. The user also has the option of iTunes Home Sharing, giving the user the ability to play the entire iTunes library from anywhere in the house.
Another advancement is that of Safari, and that Nitro JavaScript engine is twice as fast as iOS 4.2. There is also the customizable switch on the side of the iPad to lock in the screen rotation or even muting the volume.
The last big feature is that when iOS 4.3 is downloaded on the iPhone 4, it will enable a personal hotspot for sharing cellular data connection with the Mac, PC, iPad, or other Wi-Fi compatible device. Up to five devices can be put on this.
The iOS 4.3 Software Update is “coming soon” so keep an eye out for it.
And Don't Forget to Update It...!!!
